N,N-Dimethylacetamide (DMAc) is widely used to compose the solvent mixtures for cellulose.

Application

N,N-Dimethylacetamide (DMAc) has been employed as an organic solvent for the liquid-phase exfoliation of pristine graphene from bulk graphite. It may be used to compose the solvent system along with lithium chloride (LiCl) for the dissolution of commercial rayon grade cellulose.

Procedure

Dimethyl Acetamide is a colorless liquid with a faint ammonia-like odor. It is used as a solvent for plastics, resins and gums. * Dimethyl Acetamide is on the Hazardous Substance List because it is regulated by OSHA and cited by ACGIH, NIOSH and NFPA.

N,N-Dimethylacetamide (DMAC) is mainly used as synthetic fibers (acrylonitrile) and polyurethane spinning synthetic polyamide resin and a solvent, but also it is used for separating styrene from the C8 fraction extractive distillation solvent, and it is widely used in the aspects of polymer films, coatings
