Zenker's fixative is a rapid-acting fixative for animal tissues. It is employed to prepare specimens of animal or vegetable tissues for microscopic study.Recovery from Endoscopic Laser Treatment of Zenker's Diverticulum. Procedure
In recent years, endoscopic repair of Zenker's diverticulum has been found to be a viable safe and effective alternative to surgery and gained widespread acceptance. Endoscopic stapled diverticulotomy is generally the preferred approach, but flexible endoscopy is a valuable option, particularly for high-risk patients.
Note
Endoscopic cricopharyngeal myotomy (diverticulotomy) has become a primary and important means of treatment of Zenker's diverticulum. This procedure involves cutting the tight UES muscle and the party wall between the esophagus and the pouch to eliminate the obstruction.
